Tricks, treats and pump­kins to hunt

Free Hal­loween and Diwali ac­tiv­i­ties at cen­tre

HUN­DREDS of trick-or­treaters are ex­pected to de­scend on intu Uxbridge this week as part of a se­ries of free events be­ing run to keep chil­dren en­ter­tained dur­ing the half term hol­i­days.

A week of Hal­loween ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren is on of­fer, cul­mi­nat­ing in a spook-tac­u­lar trick or treat event where chil­dren are in­vited to dress up and col­lect treats from any of the cen­tre’s par­tic­i­pat­ing shops.

Chil­dren will be shown how to make some­thing fang­tas­tic, like a carved pump­kin, witch trin­ket or scary mask, at dif­fer­ent work­shops each day and intu’s big trick or treat event will be held on Satur­day.

The trick or treat event is be­ing hosted by intu Uxbridge in part­ner­ship with 10 of its top shops and restau­rants who will all be dis­play­ing carved pump­kins in the win­dows of their premises to show that they are tak­ing part in the event.

Spe­cial buck­ets will be avail­able for trick or treaters to col­lect from its cus­tomer ser­vice desk in re­turn for a vol­un­tary do­na­tion to their part­ner char­i­ties CRY and Rain­bow Trust Chil­dren’s Char­ity.

Natasha House, mar­ket­ing man­ager at intu Uxbridge, said: “We’re look­ing for­ward to putting smiles on the faces of hun­dreds of mini witches and war­locks this half term with our fun­packed week of ac­tiv­i­ties and intu Uxbridge’s big trick or treat event.” Events on of­fer at the shop­ping cen­tre each day are: To­day (Wed­nes­day) Ghostly craft­ing – masks and colour­ing To­mor­row (Thurs­day): Pump­kin carv­ing with Rain­bow Trust Chil­dren’s Char­ity Fri­day: Ghostly craft­ing – witch and ghost trin­kets Satur­day: The Big Trick or Treat and pump­kin carv­ing Sun­day: Diwali crafts Celeb-rat­ing with arts and

Ac­tiv­i­ties are free, with no book­ing re­quired and are open to all ages, but are par­tic­u­larly suit­able for chil­dren in pre-school and early years.
