WEST London residents will be delighted to hear that the Mayor of London has announced the official start date for Night Tube services on the Piccadilly line to Heathrow.

The announcement follows the launch of the overnight trains on the Central, Victoria and Jubilee lines, which launched earlier this year, and more than one million journeys have been made since they started.

Northern line users will also benefit as their 24hour services start on Friday November 18, followed by the Piccadilly line on Friday December 16.

However, Uxbridge ge will still not benefit t from the all-night services.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “I pledged to introduce five Night Tube services before e the end of the year and it gives me great pleasure asure to announce the start date of the fifth of these, the Piccadilly line services.

“We’ve seen how enthusiastically Londoners have embraced the Night Tube and I am delighted that we’ve exceeded expectations with more than one million journeys made already.

“The addition of the Piccadilly line will help even more thousands of Londoners every weekend, from those taking in the capital’s cultural landmarks to the many workers who keep London open around the clock.”

Piccadilly line services will be running just in time for Christmas between Cockfosters and Heathrow Terminal 5, but there will not be 24-hour services for Terminal 4, or between Acton Town and Uxbridge.

The Jubilee line launched 24 hours a day last month along the entire line from Stanmore to Stratford.

Trains run every 10 minutes through Harrow, Brent and Westminster.

More than 50,000 customers used the first night services, including Mr Khan, when they launched on the Victoria line and parts of the Central line in August.

Managing director of the London Underground Mark Wild, said: “The Night Tube is making life easier for our customers, with over a million journeys made on the service since it began.

“Launching the Night Tube on the Northern line next month and the Piccadilly line in December is an exciting development for London, which will enable even more tube customers to make the most of everything this great city has to offer.”
