Thu­rauf hits five as Ladies rout Croy­don

JULIA Thu­rauf struck five times in 12 first-half min­utes as Den­ham Ladies’ U16s de­mol­ished newly pro­moted Croy­don FC 9-0 on Sun­day.

She duly com­pleted her dou­ble hat-trick in the sec­ond half, while Jes­sica Stick­ley, Alketa Rragami and Claire Wiener were the oth­ers on the score­sheet for Den­ham, who sported pop­pies dur­ing an im­pec­ca­bly ob­served si­lence be­fore kick-off.

The U15s went one bet­ter, climb­ing into dou­bles fig­ures with their 10-0 league cup suc­cess against Hod­des­don Owls. Alisha Ba­jwa led the rout with a four­goal re­turn while Amy Hold­croft and Holly Sy­mons both struck twice, and there was one goal apiece for Court­ney Wool­ley and Ni­amh Reynolds.

The U12s beat Bore­ham­wood 2000 4-1, with Grace Don­aghy, Mad­die John­son Tay­lor and Mil­lie Conger­ton among the scor­ers, while the U11 Wild­cats avenged a re­cent de­feat to AFC Wim­ble­don, Mad­die Perry and Jess Polton get­ting the goals as they came from be­hind to win 2-1.

A sin­gle Tara Jhawer strike was enough for the U13s to beat Garston 1-0, while the U10s beat the same op­po­nents thanks to goals from Char­lotte Ver­ity, Ty­gun Hart and Megan Atwell.

The se­nior re­serves mean­while recorded a first league win of the cam­paign with a 2-1 vic­tory over West Ham’s re­serves, with goals from Char­lie Leigh Dixon and Chloe Jar­man, but the first team suf­fered a hefty 7-0 drub­bing at the hands of MK Dons.
