Cook­ing up a treat for fes­tive food fans

FOOD­IES, re­joice! Candice Brown, win­ner of this year’s Great Bri­tish Bake Off will join an im­pres­sive line up of chefs and cooks at the Christ­mas Food­ies Fes­ti­val in Lon­don.

Fol­low­ing her suc­cess in this year’s most watched tele­vi­sion show, with more than 14 mil­lion view­ers tun­ing in for the fi­nal, Candice will be mak­ing her first pro­fes­sional ap­pear­ance on Satur­day (Novem­ber 19) at Old Tru­man Brew­ery in Shored­itch dur­ing which she will bake in the Food­ies Fes­ti­val Cake and Bake Theatre.

Candice said: “I’m re­ally look­ing for­ward to bak­ing in the Cake and Bake Theatre at Food­ies Fes­ti­val, it’s so ex­cit­ing to be asked to come along and do what I love most, and to be mak­ing my Lon­don de­but so close to home.”

This fes­tive sea­son the Chefs Theatre also boasts a stel­lar line up, in­clud­ing this year’s MasterChef win­ner, Jane Devon­shire, who will be cook­ing up her favourite fam­ily Christ­mas recipes for the first time. This year’s line-up

Cake and Bake Theatre Candice will be show­ing off her award-win­ning bak­ing skills.

Bur­lesque Baker Char­lotte White will cre­ate a mod­ern show­stop­per of a con­tem­po­rary Christ­mas cake in just 30 min­utes.

Mas­ter choco­latier Fiona Sci­olti show­cases a new selec­tion of choco­late desserts and treats, as well as in­tro­duc­ing her new­est sea­sonal de­lights in­clud­ing Chur­ros with de­li­cious fes­tive top­pings.

Drinks Theatre Cham­pagne ex­pert Neil Philips and wine ex­perts Charles Met­calfe and Brian El­liot in­tro­duce their favourite tip­ples for Christ­mas.

Melissa Cole gives guided craft beer tast­ings.

Gin, whisky and Christ­mas Cock­tail mas­ter­classes.

There will also be an ar­ti­san Christ­mas mar­ket, street food stalls, the Elves Cook­ery School for chil­dren, singers and Christ­mas car­ollers, a chilli eat­ing com­pe­ti­tion, a mince pie eat­ing con­test and a Christ­mas quiz.
