Cooking up a treat for festive food fans

FOODIES, rejoice! Candice Brown, winner of this year’s Great British Bake Off will join an impressive line up of chefs and cooks at the Christmas Foodies Festival in London.

Following her success in this year’s most watched television show, with more than 14 million viewers tuning in for the final, Candice will be making her first profession­al appearance on Saturday (November 19) at Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch during which she will bake in the Foodies Festival Cake and Bake Theatre.

Candice said: “I’m really looking forward to baking in the Cake and Bake Theatre at Foodies Festival, it’s so exciting to be asked to come along and do what I love most, and to be making my London debut so close to home.”

This festive season the Chefs Theatre also boasts a stellar line up, including this year’s MasterChef winner, Jane Devonshire, who will be cooking up her favourite family Christmas recipes for the first time. This year’s line-up

Cake and Bake Theatre Candice will be showing off her award-winning baking skills.

Burlesque Baker Charlotte White will create a modern showstoppe­r of a contempora­ry Christmas cake in just 30 minutes.

Master chocolatie­r Fiona Sciolti showcases a new selection of chocolate desserts and treats, as well as introducin­g her newest seasonal delights including Churros with delicious festive toppings.

Drinks Theatre Champagne expert Neil Philips and wine experts Charles Metcalfe and Brian Elliot introduce their favourite tipples for Christmas.

Melissa Cole gives guided craft beer tastings.

Gin, whisky and Christmas Cocktail masterclas­ses.

There will also be an artisan Christmas market, street food stalls, the Elves Cookery School for children, singers and Christmas carollers, a chilli eating competitio­n, a mince pie eating contest and a Christmas quiz.
