Flying Pickett scores four in under 11s rout

Juniors rain in the goals for 8-3 result over Kingston

JAKE Pickett led the goal rush as Sandgate under 11s routed Kingston Town on Sunday.

Pickett hit four in his side’s 8-3 win, Leo Stevens added a brace and there were goals for Luke Waddock and Issac Olum.

Daniel Okolo’s goals proved the difference for the U13 Arrows as they advanced in the Middlesex Cup at the expense of Acton Ealing Whistlers. Okolo scored all three in the 3-0 victory.

Sandgate’s other hat-trick hero of the weekend was U8 Harry Ward, whose treble came in their 5-5 draw against Old Isleworthi­ans. Ollie Hunt bagged a brace in the goal fest but Harry Bridges earned man of the match for a last-minute tackle which saved a goal to preserve Sandgate’s unbeaten record.

Sporting new kit from sponsors Trenic Taekwondo, the U9s beat Esher thanks to Stanley Wakeling’s double and one each from Jesiah Mathurin and Shantae McLeod.

The U15s shared the goals around as they beat Brook House 4-2; Ronnie Heath, Hubert Adamek, Tyler Tanner and Matteo Franco their scorers.

It was a good day too for the U14s and U14 Colts. The latter beat Old Isleworthi­ans 4-0 thanks to doubles from Tinnaye Chirambagu­hwa and Ryan Roberts, while the U14s won their cup match with Belmont 2-0 with Shokrola Amiri and Ali Sohrabi the youngsters on target. The U16s were the other winners this week, beating Cheam Sports 3-2.

A double for man of the match Nabil Mezali helped the U10 Colts draw 2-2 with Bedfont Eagles, but Sandgate’s other five sides were beaten.

The U12s just lost out, 3-2, to Brook House despite goals from Daniel N’Somi and Shae Cooper, while a Joshua Dean strike couldn’t save the U10s from going down 3-1 to Cobham Cobras.

Abbie McKenzie’s goal was consolatio­n for the U7s as they lost 4-1 to AVG Starz and the U7 Colts managed just an own goal as they went down 3-1 to the same opponents. The U13 Blades also had a day to forget, losing 6-0 to AVC Wembley.
