Two-minute pause to go with silence

-

I AM writing to say how disappointed I was after attending the Memorial Service in Church Road, Hayes.

It was very well attended and there was a police presence there, so why oh why did they not stop the traffic from travelling along Church Road while everyone was standing quietly to observe the two-minute silence to honour our war dead.

Surely it is not too much to ask for people to give up two minutes of their time to show their respect for those who died in the war. Also where was the Reveille to let everyone know the silence was over?

Hopefully this can be resolved for next year. J MERRETT Frogmore Avenue Hayes
