Can­cer char­ity’s vol­un­teer call

Cen­tre of­fers in­for­ma­tion and sup­port

A CAN­CER char­ity in Yiewsley has taken the op­por­tu­nity of a spe­cial award cer­e­mony to thank its sup­ports and to also ask the com­mu­nity to get in­volved by vol­un­teer­ing to help can­cer suf­fer­ers.

The Com­mu­nity Can­cer Cen­tre (CCC) in Fair­field Road held a cel­e­bra­tion of its ded­i­cated vol­un­teers which was at­tended by the Mayor of Hilling­don Coun­cil­lor John Hens­ley.

CCC cur­rently has around 50 vol­un­teers who help run the char­ity, which of­fers in­for­ma­tion and sup­port to peo­ple with can­cer and their car­ers.

The char­ity is call­ing on the com­mu­nity to get in­volved to help run ser­vices.

Natalie Eti­enne, who works with CCC, said: “A sin­cere and heart­felt thank you to all of the CCC vol­un­teers.

“We have a to­tal of 50 vol­un­teers, some of whom work or are cur­rently un­well so could not be with us at the cen­tre to­day. You were all greatly missed. The Com­mu­nity Can­cer Cen­tre vol­un­teers of­fer their pre­cious time, ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment to sup­port­ing can­cer pa­tients and loved ones.

“They are all so valu­able and make up a won­der­fully close and strongly con­nected team. “Well done to you all.” The cen­tre wanted to thank lo­cal busi­nesses Peri Peri Chicken, Pop­pins Cafe, Go Go Pizza, Reena’s and Roses are Red who all do­nated to help run the award cer­e­mony.
