Give them a medal for replacing bench

-

NOT A Commemorative Plaque!

Seeing a plaque (brass) on a recently arrived bench (close to the Rayners Lane post office) I expected it to be celebrating the life of some local person (departed from this mortal coil) renowned for their good works.

To say the least, I was surprised to find it was just a statement, saying that it is part of the Mayor Krishnan Suresh’s regeneration programme.

A plaque is not required for that. Benches that are falling apart should be replaced automatically.

Furthermore, it would be helpful if they had notices on saying that the benches are for ‘elderly, disabled and those less able to stand’, as some bus and train seats do!

Moving on to the lack of religious programmes – I could not help but notice a severe lack of Christian religious films on the television this Christmas.

Have they gone to Sky instead of BBC/ITV etc?

If so, there are some of us who do not have SKY, do not want SKY and cannot afford SKY. MRS MTB EARL Hamilton Crescent Harrow
