‘Chatty’ degus in need of home

-

IN mid – May, we will be holding an art exhibition at our pop-up furniture shop in Ruislip to raise funds for our branch and we are looking for local artists to take part.

As well as oil, water and colour, we are also accepting photographs, sculptures and ceramics.

There will be a modest charge to exhibit and we will retain a commission on any work sold (although you could donate your work and we will retain 100 per cent).

The event will run for one week and we will have a reception/preview evening to kick things off

If you would like to take part, please register your interest by emailing paul@ rspcamiddlesex.org. uk or call me on 020 8429 5604.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing during shop trading hours.

Meet Dexter and Diego.

Dexter and Diego are one-year-old male degus who have been put into our care.

Degus are interesting animals – originating from Chile, , they live on the coastal l plains of the Andes.

They are very friendly and love human company, although they don’t like to be handled too much. Being intelligent animals they need a lot of stimulation and a large cage to keep active in. They are awake during daylight hours so can be fun to watch and quite chatty too.

They need a sand bath at least daily and they need a very specific diet ass they cannot digest su sugar and carbohydrate, w which makes them prone to diabetes.

These little chaps, like al all degus, love to chew so it is very important to gi give them the correct ca cage or they will escape.

They can live for up to ei eight years.

Remember that a pet is a long-term commitment an and you should think lo long and hard before m making any decisions.

You will also need to in invest in a good, large cage so space and budget are important things to consider.

If you think you could offer a forever home to Diego and Dexter (they must stay together) or any of the small animals, cats and rabbits we currently have looking for a home for life, then please call us on 020 8966 9688 or email us at info@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk.

To view some of the many pets we have looking for new homes you can visit our website at www.rspca-middlesex. org.uk where you will also find more information about the work we do at RSPCA Middlesex North West Branch.

Here’s looking forward to a fantastic 2017.
