Banfield double earns draw for reserves
DENHAM U LADIES
JENNY Banfield stole the headlines for Denham Ladies Reserves as they as they fought out a battling draw with QPR ladies at the Den on Sunday.
Banfield hit both goals as the game finished 2-2 in a match which saw really good football.
For goals, the under-15s were again the team to watch, rattling up double figures in an emphatic 10-1 win over Knebworth.
Alisha Bajwa’s four-timer led the rout with Niamh Reynolds adding a hat-trick and Naomi Hickey two after a couple of lean weeks up front.
Courtney Woolley completed the goalscoring roll of honour with the player-of-the-match award being shared between Amy Doherty and Holly Symons after dominant performances in the middle of the park. The U11 Wildcats rediscovered the winning feeling after a great performance at GPR Sapphires. Madison Perry, Lola Almendros and Paige Hollie were the players on target for the visitors.
The U16s and U13s both suffered heavy losses, going down 3-0 and 4-0 to Crystal Palace and Borehamwood, respectively, while an Amelia Franklin goal was not enough to prevent the U10s also coming out on the losing side at St Albans.
Off the pitch, Denham confirmed their summer tournament will run from May 27-29 with discounts available for teams who book before the end of March.
