Racial harassment: man arrested at Bees match
A FOOTBALLER was allegedly at the receiving end of racial harassment at a recent match day in Brentford.
A man has been charged follow- ing an incident involving a Brentford FC player, who has not been named, on Tuesday September 26.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm inside the grounds of the Griffin Park stadium in Brentford, police said.
The Bees were playing against Derby County where they equalised just before full time on their home turf.
The Metropolitan Police’s Football Unit confirmed the charge on Twitter, saying that a Derby County supporter had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Christopher Boyes, 32, from Southampton, was arrested and charged with a Section 4A public order and racially aggravated harrassment.
He is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court for a hearing on Wednesday October 11.
