A TEENAGER who was stabbed in the chest on his own doorstep in Uxbridge has been released from hospital after three days.

Deividas Vyturys, aged 18, was attacked with a knife while turning the key in his own front door in Andover Close on Friday (October 20).

The teenager was rushed to hospital by his mother, Renata Jankunaite, for emergency treatment shortly after the incident at around 7pm.

He was taken to a central London hospital for further treatment to his 2cm deep chest wound and remained there until Monday afternoon (October 23) when he was discharged.

Renata told getwestlondon of the horrifying first moments after the stabbing: “We heard screams coming from the front door and I ran outside. My Deividas was bleeding quite a lot and I had to drive him to accident and emergency myself. He was bleeding really badly the whole time.

“They told us his injuries were too serious and he had to be transferred to another hospital by ambulance.”

Metropolitan Police was called to the residential address in Andover Close at 7.40pm on Friday and the force is continuing to investigate the incident but have not yet made any arrests.

Speaking two days after the incident, Renata said that Deividas had just started to walk again and was slowly regaining his strength.

“Thank you so much for all the kind words and comments,” she added.

“It’s just so shocking to see things like this happening everywhere, even outside your own front door.”

Deividas himself commented on the getwestlondon Facebook page to thank readers for their concern and well wishes.

Some readers like June Chapman, Mareeen O’Connell and Sue Pedroso talked about stricter laws and sentences that would mean anyone in possession of a knife “with no good reason” to be sent to prison.

They also demanded tougher sentences for those convicted of stabbing.

Facebook user Cazzee Rford said: “We can’t even be safe on our own doorstep. Makes me sad because if this is how it is now.

“God only knows how bad it will be when our babies are older. Our kids cant play out like the old days and doors cant be left open.

“All due to people using knives and guns.”
