Who’s best for friendliness?

WEST LONDON BOROUGHS PERFORM WELL IN ‘FRIENDLY SURVEY’

- GOOLISTAN COOPER

A NEW ‘friendly survey’ puts west London boroughs near the top of the list, although one of our boroughs is propping up the table

Kensington, Hillingdon, Brent and Westminster all feature near the top of a recent survey carried out by Vivo Property Buyers.

However, on the other end of the scale Hammersmith and Fulham is found to be one of the least friendly boroughs in London.

Coming top of the list is Greenwich, which had an overall “friendly score” of 79%.

Next came Barnet (75%) and Merton (73%), before Hillingdon and Kensington and Chelsea show up with 66%.

Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington and Newham prop up the table of 32 boroughs with a paltry 28% on the scale.

Explaining the reasons behind the survey, property buyers Vivo said: “We love the capital and have bought many homes from lots of lovely people from all areas and zones.

“Therefore, we find it strange that Londoners are often called unfriendly, with critics claiming that London lacks community spirit and that the fast-paced way of life here means that people do not have time for their neighbours anymore.

“We ran an online survey asking 400 Londoners from all 32 boroughs questions that were related to measuring community spirit and friendliness, to discover which part of London is the friendliest of them all!”

Looking at the results, Jantiene Sobry from Vivo said: “We’re really happy that the stereotype has been proved wrong!”

Earlier in the year, people living in Hammersmith and Fulham were listed as among the most anxious in the UK.
