‘It’s a good and important thing for us to do’
FOOTBALL HEROES CHEER UP CHILDREN ON THE WARD AT HILLINGDON HOSPITAL
QPR spent the afternoon at Hillingdon Hospital on Monday afternoon as they made their annual Christmas trip.
Experienced stars such as Grant Hall, Jordan Cousins, Massimo Luongo and Luke Freeman were joined by youngsters such as Sean Goss, Ilias Chair and Bright OsayiSamuel to hand out gifts and speak to the children and parents who are going to spend Christmas in the children’s wards.
The visit brought smiles to the faces of all the children and staff members, while players could be overheard talking about how much they enjoyed the visit.
One of those was young midfielder Ilias Chair, who despite his tender years told Get West London that the visit meant a lot to him to be able to share the love at this time of year.
He said: “It’s been really good for the kids to show our love, and good for the club to show that we are really good guys who want to help the kids. It’s been a great experience for all of us.
“It’s my first time doing it but I’ve really enjoyed it. I like kids and I want to help people, so it was great to be involved.
“It’s very important to do things like this. QPR is a big club with a great heart and a lot of people who want to help so it’s very good and an important thing for us to do.

“There were lots of smiling faces, but it’s also important to the parents of the kids.
“It’s been a rough time for them. Of course we’re there with a smile but we’re also there to support them.”
Bright Osayi-Samuel only joined the club at the beginning of September, and he spoke of how much it meant to be able to give gifts to the children.
He said: “It’s a great experience for me. It’s my first time doing it.
“For the kids, it’s not good for the kids to be in hospital for Christmas, so we wanted to show our support and show that we care for them. It’s a good thing for us as individuals and as a club to do.
“They were so happy to receive presents. I remember being a kid and wanting presents when I was young, so to receive presents at Christmas is a good thing.
“It’s nice to give out presents and show love to all of the kids in hospital at this time of year.”
