Getting claws into presents

-

THERE is nothing like getting up early on Christmas morning, bounding down the stairs and finding a stocking, bulging with goodies waiting for you.

For Jonny, one of our long stay cats, and his friends Christmas has come early as they had these lovely boxes to explore and enjoy in their warm pen.

Many animals are not as lucky as Jonny and face spending a cold, wet Christmas trying to find food and shelter. Our animal welfare officers will do all they can to get injured, sick and abused animals into the cattery or foster care and we would love to give them all special treat to them feel loved.

When you are doing your Christmas shopping could you pick up a few bits for our animals too? We need cat toys, snuggly blankets, food items and, of course, treats. If you could put them into a shoe box (wrapped in pretty paper if possible) and drop the box into one of our shops, we will make sure that they get to Santa in time for delivery on Christmas Eve. If you cannot afford to fill a whole shoe box any gift will be gratefully received.

We also have an Amazon wish list, so if you are short on time or ideas let Amazon do the hard work for you at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/registry/wishlist/NNR0L7WI6FRK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_z_g__wf.

If you have new furniture arriving ready for Christmas there is still time to donate it to our pop-up shop. We have a great team who will come and collect your old furniture so that we can give it a new life elsewhere. Just give them a call on 07531 446830 to arrange date and time. We already have some beautiful furniture available and new stuff is coming in all the time, so if you need a table, chairs or a sofa at a sensible price please come and see us.

Remember that a pet is a long term commitment and you should think long and hard before making any decisions. Please consider adopting an animal from either the RSPCA or any of the other rehoming charities.

If you must buy a specific animal do your homework, meet the breeder and see where it was bred.

If you think you could offer a forever home to any of the small animals, cats and rabbits we currently have looking for a home for life then please call us on 020 8966 9688 or email us at info@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk.

To view some of the many pets we have looking for new homes, you can visit our website at www.rspcamiddlesex.org.uk where you will also find more information about the work we do at RSPCA Middlesex North West Branch.
