Twist in the tale of office visit

-

CHILDREN from Hermitage Primary School Uxbridge took part in a short story competition after paying a visit to a new office development in Belmont Road.

The vast 129,000 sq ft Belmont office building presented a blank canvas to the pupils, who came up with imaginative and creative stories of adventures in the building.

All the children who took part were awarded with book tokens by Aviva Investors, the building’s developers.

The competition, judged by Hillingdon Council leader Ray Puddifoot, executives from Aviva and Gazette reporter Qasim Peracha, was won by Rachel Munn for her brilliant story, The Interview with a Twist!

Natasha Fernando claimed second place with her riotous Lambo Pills and Tom Walshe earned third place with Lost in Belmont.

Aviva also awarded Renne Chaddah, Halloween Surprise, and Naregs Poya, The Villain of Belmont, with Highly Commended prizes.

Julian Cobourne, Senior Asset Manager, Aviva Investors, said: “Many thanks to the children of Year 6, Hermitage Primary School for taking part in Aviva Investors’ Belmont short story competition and to the teachers who helped make this possible.

“All of us on the judging panel thoroughly enjoyed reading the story entries and we were impressed with the variety of great adventures and brilliant use of language.

“It was difficult to chose just one winner, but in the end we all decided that the winning story was ‘Interview with a Twist’ by Rachel Munn. “Congratulations to Rachel and all
