KNITWEAR DONATIONS KEEP CHARITY’S PUPS COSY

-

KNITTING club members have generously donated their efforts to the pooches at Dogs Trust West London in Harefield.

Members of the group at Oak House Care Home in Slough meet at their weekly yarn craft club and have gifted the rehoming centre with knitted blankets for the dogs’ kennels and also handmade jumpers, ideal for keeping the four-legged residents toasty warm on those chilly walks.

Rachael Cresdee lifestyle co-ordinator at Oak House said: “We had started knitting for the residents, but most of them have got blankets already, so we thought we would get more involved with the community.

“Oak House knitting club really enjoyed their visit to Dogs Trust, it was great to see all of the hard work that they do for dogs in need. They gave us an unexpected tour on the day, which we really enjoyed.

“Seeing Toby model one of the jumpers we made on the day was fantastic! We were delighted to donate blankets and jumpers to the rehoming centre, and are always on hand if they need more.”

Dogs Trust West London’s Rehoming Centre Manager Richard Moore added: “It’s incredibly kind of Oak House care home knitting club to think of us, and our dogs.

“With the weather so unpredictable from one day to the next it’s so useful to have extra blankets and jumpers on hand to deal with the colder days.

“Huge thanks to them from all humans and dogs at the rehoming centre - we are very grateful!”

If you’re looking to adopt a four-legged friend take a look at the rehoming centre’s website or visit them at Highway Farm House, Harvil Road, Harefield, Uxbridge UB9 6JW.
