INTU FUNDS SAFARI DAY FOR HALO FOUNDATION FAMILIES

-

A SHOPPING centre in Uxbridge treated families to a fantastic day out at Port Lympne Reserve.

On Friday July 24, staff from intu Uxbridge united with family members from The HALO Foundation – the shopping centre’s charity of the year – to embark on their very own adventure at the Kent safari.

The day was a great success, with families spending quality time together and of course getting up close to the 700 rare animals!

Whilst parents had the chance to relax and mingle with other HALO families, children made new friends and enjoyed exploring the 600-acre safari.

To have a lasting memory of the day, intu Uxbridge gave each child a voucher to spend in Port Lympne’s souvenirs shop.

Intu Uxbridge’s all-expenses-paid trip was part of the shopping centres aim to give something back to the charity, which supports families who are suffering from the loss of a loved one.

Alia Jones, chief executive of HALO Children’s Foundation commented: “We were delighted when intu Uxbridge invited our HALO families to a day out at Port Lympne Reserve – providing a respite away from the stresses at home.”

Alia Jones continued: “We all had a fantastic day out and the trip allowed families to create new memories together. This generous gesture will be treasured for a very long time and we feel very lucky to be intu Uxbridge’s chosen charity of the year!”

Natasha House, marketing manager at intu Uxbridge said, “After choosing HALO as our chosen chairty of the year, we’ve been working closely together to help raise awareness of the fantastic work they carry out. As the summer holidays are now in full swing, we thought it would be great to spend some time in the fresh air and treat families to a day out at the zoo.”

Natasha continued: “We all thoroughly enjoyed the day out at Port Lympne, and it was great to see HALO families taking some time out to relax and spend some quality time together whilst exploring the safari.”
