Beguiled by a bijou home?
PROPERTY IN UXBRIDGE RANKED ‘MOST POPULAR’ BY ZOOPLA
A VERY modest flat has become the most sought after home in Uxbridge and it’s easy to see why.
There are 37 flats up for sale in the Bakers Road block which is right opposite Uxbridge Underground station – but location’s not the main reason one of them has become so popular.
A Your Move ad for the flat on property website Zoopla is ranked as the “most popular” in the area.
And while the two-bedroom apartment doesn’t look much from the outside, it’s furnished to a tee on the inside and boasts some pretty impressive views.
But the key selling point to this plain Jane of the property market has to be its price. Your Move estate agents have advertised the flat on Zoopla for £98,750.
That’s several cars less than the average price of a home in London, an eye-watering £478,853.
If you’re thinking it sounds too good to be true, you’re right to believe there’s a slight catch.
The £98,750 gets you shared ownership of the property: 25 per cent, but there’s the option to buy up to 75 per cent of it for those willing to shell out more.
The other bit which might ring alarm bells is the images used in the ad are “not to scale” and “for illustrative purposes only”.
Your Move has the flat’s measurements down as: bedroom (3.40m x 3.76m), bedroom (2nd) (2.29m x 3.76m), bathroom, lounge (3.66m x 4.17m), kitchen (2.84m x 3.89m).
And the website clearly states “measurements are approximate” (it’s not clear why they’re not given for the bathroom.)
Beguiling photos aside, this home is a darned sight cheaper than most homes in the capital and could be a rare opportunity to get on our city’s elusive property market.
