MAYOR OPENS CARE HOME’S NEW CAFE AND PUB
HILLINGDON MAYOR OPENS NEW VENUE AT THE BURROUGHS
A CARE home has launched its brand new café and pub with the help of a special guest.
The Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor John Morgan, performed a ceremonial ribbon cutting to officially open the bar and café at The Burroughs care home, on Mill Road.
Local people joined the celebrations, and visitors had the opportunity to enjoy coffee and sweet treats in the newly opened venue.
Named Aubrey Smith Café by the residents, after the original owner of The Burroughs. It will provide the perfect spot for residents and their families to meet and indulge in a cup of tea and slice of cake.
Singer Dave Mac was also in attendance, and got both guests and residents in the party spirit.
Bozena Szczepaniak, home manager at The Burroughs, said: “The unveiling of the pub and café is an important milestone for all of us, and we are pleased to offer the residents a place to meet and greet family members and friends.
“We have built a warm, welcoming community here at The Bur- roughs, with everything in place so we can provide the highest standards of personalised care.
“We were delighted that so many people were able to join us for the launch, and we would like to thank Councillor John Morgan for officially opening the café and pub.”
The Burroughs is a warm and welcoming care home which provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as shortterm respite care.
Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
The home has a comprehensive activity programme, offering a mix of themed events, group activities and days out.
