FLATS WILL BE NEXT TO OLD VINYL FACTORY

-

THREE new apartment blocks are set to go up right by Hayes’ s iconic Old Vinyl Factory.

The former factory building in Blythe Road was where The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album was pressed, as well as records by Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Queen.

But the former EMI record plant has since been transformed into new homes and office spaces and shops.

And another 118 homes have been given the go-ahead by Hillingdon Council, to go up next door.

Developer Bellway will deliver the new Bluenote Apartments development which will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes across three different blocks.

There will be 77 private apartments and 34 affordable homes, as well as seven town houses, 86 car parking spaces and 330 square metres of commercial space for shops and businesses and a communal courtyard.

Bellway bigs up the development as being a “short walk away” from Hayes and Harlington station where Elizabeth line (Crossrail) services are scheduled to run from December 2019.

While Bellway is yet to reveal how much the new homes will cost it confirmed residents will be able to move into the homes from the spring of 2020.

Head of sales for Bellway North London, Greg Allsop said: “We are very happy to announce our plans for new homes in Hayes have been approved.

“Bluenote Apartments will be the latest chapter in Hayes’ rich history. Our apartments have been thoughtfully designed to suit a wide range of buyers, and with Crossrail due to open later this year, central London will be just minutes away from the development.

“The development is also ideally located with a whole host of amenities, local schools and excellent transport links all close
