Teen jailed for stabbing and robbery

-

A TEENAGER has been jailed after stabbing and robbing a boy in Acton before trying to intimidate his victim into withdrawing his police complaint.

Rajwan Khan, 18, had agreed to meet his victim at a park bench near Acton Central station in Ealing to discuss selling an electric scooter for £200 on November 17, 2019.

But when the 17-year-old boy arrived, Khan and an accomplice demanded that he hand over the money with no intention of giving him the scooter in return.

After the boy refused, Khan and the accomplice began to punch and kick him until he not only gave them the cash but also his mobile phone.

Hoping the attack was over, the victim began walking away before

Khan, of Uxbridge Road, Shepherd’s Bush, ran up behind him and stabbed him in the leg.

The boy was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries, eventually making a full recovery. He reported the attack to police who identified Khan as one of the suspects and arrested him at his home.

The Metropolitan Police have been unable to identify Khan’s accomplice.

When interviewed, he made no comment to all questions asked, before being charged with robbery, grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

Khan was on bail when he decided to contact a third party to intimidate the victim into withdrawing his report to police. The third party offered the victim money but later made threats against him.

Police arrested Khan again for witness intimidation, for which he was charged. Khan was found guilty on all counts, including witness intimidation and on Friday, May 29, was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison.

DC Imogen Bodimeade said: “Rajwan Khan lured the victim to a location to rob him but, not content with this, stabbed him in the leg as he was trying to leave.

“Thanks to the bravery of the victim this strong sentence shows the result of those actions.”
