SONG AND DANCE: WORRIED about being bored over the summer holidays? Worry no more, as a brand new musical summer school is coming to Harefield.
From Monday August 1 to Friday August 5, with a performance on the Friday evening, local children and teenagers can get involved in singing, dancing and acting at a special summer school.
The school involves coaching by theatre professional Penny Lane, and builds to a performance of The Girl Who Saved Christmas written by Paul Alexander.
Singing teacher Penny said: “The Girl Who Saved Christmas is a brand new quirky family musical about what happens when Captain Hook decides to eliminate Santa and abolish Christmas (he’s fed up being portrayed as such a loser in so many Christmas pantos).
“Only Holly Ivers, the newest, least popular pupil at Clement Clarke Moore Juniors can stop him – armed with just her determination and Tinkerbell’s spare fairy dust!
Mrs Lane said: “Why should children take part in the summer school? Because it’s the antidote to normal school. You won’t be punished for raising your voice in class – in fact, we insist on it.
“If you think you might like singing or dancing or if you’ve ever wanted to see how stories (and songs) work from the inside, this is the perfect opportunity to do that, have fun, and make new friends at the same time.”
The summer school costs £145 per child, which includes the week’s course and one ticket to the performance.
