Rio and Brazil win gold for chirpiness

Can you give an animal a loving home and a new start in life?

-

IT’S too darn hot! After a tricky start the summer seems to have found its form and is really heating up. As is the British way it’s not long before we hear ‘it’s too hot for me!’ and ‘I need some rain for the garden.’ Keeping cool becomes something of a challenge as all the big stores have long sold out of fans and cooling devices so the next best thing is to throw open the windows and let some air in.

The only drawback? If you have left the door to the budgie or parrot cage open they may just pop out for a look around and not find their way back! During periods of hot weather we get lots of calls regarding “stray” birds and, if they have taken the opportunity to fully stretch their wings they could end up a long way from home so they are often very difficult to return to their homes. And that is how we came by these two little chaps.

Rio (blue) and Brazil (yellow) are juvenile males who were found in different areas. They are getting on famously together and spend most of the day chirping away to each other (we think they are exchanging stories of their escapes).

Do you have a nice big aviary with space for these two happy chappies? If you think you could offer a forever home to Rio and Brazil then please call us on (020) 8966 9688 or email us at: info@rspcamiddlesex.org.uk.

The late start to the summer also delayed the kitten season but we now have lots of lovely little chaps and chapesses looking for forever homes. They are all microchipped and neutered (if they are too young you will get a voucher so this can be done at a later date) and will have had a health check and their first vaccination.

We have a whole range of colours, sizes and personalities so there is bound to be one that suits you and, if not, why not choose one of our older cats instead?

If you think you could offer a forever home to any of the other cats and kittens we currently have in our care then please call us on (020) 8966 9688 or email us at: info@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk.

You can see more pictures of Rio and Brazil and many of the other animals (rabbits, cats and kittens) in our care on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ RSPCAMNW Don’t forget you can follow us on twitter too @ RSPCAMIDDLESEX

And finally.. we still need loads of soft toy animals for our fundraising events so while the kids are on school holidays why not get them to sort out their cupboards and help us care for Rio and Brazil?

Just drop them in to one of our shops www.rspca-middlesex.org.uk/ how-to-find-us/
