Open letter to Boris Johnson MP

-

FIRST of all I must eat my words re letter to you dated July 3, 2016. Shortly after the referendum of June 23 this year I was so incensed that you had pressed for Brexit that I also wrote to the Uxbridge Gazette complaining bitterly about your stance re leaving the European Union. Now you have been elevated to the Tory Cabinet as Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs, I must congratulate you on your new post.

My letter today is about Uxbridge town centre’s post office. I wonder if you have ever had to use it or even know where it is in Uxbridge.

It is found, with difficulty, upstairs at the back of Smiths stationers retail shop and on arrival, there will be a queue a mile long of people waiting to be served.

On Tuesday October 11, I arrived at approx 3.25pm and there were about seven people ahead of me. There was one member of staff to serve us. I waited for 35 minutes and was served at 4pm. It’s not good enough. I don’t know who decided the location and size of Uxbridge Town Centre’s post office.

Certainly their judgement of the service it could provide was out of touch with reality.

As you know, Uxbridge has two fairly large shopping centres, is a university town accommodating thousands of students as well as lecturers, and is home to a number of corporate companies.

The town centre post office is totally inadequate and we need your help, Mr Johnson, to get something done about its location and hopeless service. MRS RACHAEL FELSTEAD Victoria Road South Ruislip
