It’s no mystery Frost is back

A bride, a kidnapping and a murder...

A TOUCH of frost is about to descend on the Compass Theatre when Ruislip Dramatic Society return and bring the famous detective to the stage.

The group will be presenting Cat’s Cradle by Leslie Sands, a gripping mystery thriller where Inspector Frost must tackle the unsolved case that ruined his career almost 20 years earlier.

Set in an old coachinghouse in a remote English village, the play sees Frost battling to solve a kidnapping and murder that the local people are keen to forget. With a new piece of evidence, he returns to the scene of the crime, but where he once was a welcome guest, Frost now finds he is as welcome as winter.

Is this icy reception purely due to him never having solved the case? Or is there something more to this?

Perhaps it’s the wedding in the village, due to take place that weekend that has made him particularly unwelcome, or could that also be connected in some way with the tragic events from all those years ago?

The character of Detective Inspector Frost, originally created by R. D. Wingfield is well known from the hit TV series A Touch of Frost which starred Sir David Jason.

Sands’ Cat’s Cradle shows the dishevelled detective at his best – dedicated, unorthodox and flat footed in his approach but with a good heart. The play is a skilfully crafted mystery thriller that will delight Frost fans and all who love a good whodunit.
