Nine-minute treble as star striker sets pace

But rapid hat-trick not enough for best-player honour SANDGATE

SANDGATE U8s striker Harry Ward was certainly a player in a hurry on Sunday.

Hot-shot Ward bagged a hattrick inside nine minutes before going on to notch a fourth as his side outsmarted Esher Wizards Whites 6-4.

Ollie Hunt weighed in with the other two goals, but neither earned the man of the match honours, which went the way of goalkeeper Dylan McCarthy.

Ward wasn’t the only four-goal man in a Sandgate shirt as u13 Okash Islow matched the feat in the Blades’ 14-2 demolition of Kingston Town Wanderers. Dean Cochrane scored a hattrick in the rout with doubles for Dhillon Quashie and Dillon Osei and goals for Jake Oatway, Kian Duffy and Harris Jabaarkhel.

Not to be outdone, Abbie McKenzie showed the boys a thing or two about finishing as she hit four in a lady-of-the-match performance for the U7s against Hillingdon Abbots. Luke Burns, Harrison Shepherd and Ahmed Abdullah were also on the mark in a 7-7 draw!

The U9s were in sharpshooting form as they saw off Staines Town 6-3, Jasiah scoring a stunner among his brace to take the man of the match honours. Chay Hudson also bagged a double with Christiano de Sousa, and an own goal, making up the tally.

The U14s and U14 Colts both won. The latter saw off Oxshott Royals 3-1 in league action thanks to a Tinnaye Chirambaguhwa double and one for Jed Summers, while the former needed goals from Archie Goodliff and Alex McDowell to win a tight cup tie with Sheen Lions 2-1.

The U10 Colts drew 3-3 with Mayford Athletic Panthers courtesy of goals by Nabil Mezali, Chouaib Halfaoui and Ryan Hadji, while a Ben Crane strike earned the U15 Colts a point from a 1-1 draw at AFC West End.

The U16s were beaten 5-3 by Wallington Wanderers despite a double for Valentino Buonanno and one for Abdi Ganamo.

Two for Fletcher Bevis and another for Soloman Makoni couldn’t prevent the U12s losing by the same score to Kingstonian Youth. Elsewhere, Kunmi Omojola’s goal was just consolation for the U10s as they lost 3-1 to Mitcham Park and the U15s lost by the same score to Ascot United Youth.
