Thurauf hits five as Ladies rout Croydon

DENHAM LADIES

-

JULIA Thurauf struck five times in 12 first-half minutes as Denham Ladies’ U16s demolished newly promoted Croydon FC 9-0 on Sunday.

She duly completed her double hat-trick in the second half, while Jessica Stickley, Alketa Rragami and Claire Wiener were the others on the scoresheet for Denham, who sported poppies during an impeccably observed silence before kick-off.

The U15s went one better, climbing into doubles figures with their 10-0 league cup success against Hoddesdon Owls. Alisha Bajwa led the rout with a fourgoal return while Amy Holdcroft and Holly Symons both struck twice, and there was one goal apiece for Courtney Woolley and Niamh Reynolds.

The U12s beat Borehamwood 2000 4-1, with Grace Donaghy, Maddie Johnson Taylor and Millie Congerton among the scorers, while the U11 Wildcats avenged a recent defeat to AFC Wimbledon, Maddie Perry and Jess Polton getting the goals as they came from behind to win 2-1.

A single Tara Jhawer strike was enough for the U13s to beat Garston 1-0, while the U10s beat the same opponents thanks to goals from Charlotte Verity, Tygun Hart and Megan Atwell.

The senior reserves meanwhile recorded a first league win of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over West Ham’s reserves, with goals from Charlie Leigh Dixon and Chloe Jarman, but the first team suffered a hefty 7-0 drubbing at the hands of MK Dons.
