IT WAS a good time to be an under-11 at Denham Ladies FC this week, with both the Pumas and the Wildcats producing impressive wins.

The former overcame a slow start to book their place in the semi finals of the League Cup with a victory over Pro Direct Academy on Saturday, with Evie Perkis, Jessica Polton and Phoebe Smith the girls on target.

Just 24 hours later, the Wildcats won 3-0 at Sutton, where Maisie Swan was in great form in goal to keep the scores level before the visitors took control with goals by Paige Hoile, Ellie Trigg and player of the match Madison Perry.

Another side within touching distance of cup glory are the U14s, who advanced to the last four of the U15s Capital Girls Cup at the expense of Pro Direct Academy. A combination of U14s and U15s, saw off their rivals 2-0 thanks to strikes from player of the match Sophie Hudson and Claire Weiner.

The U13s reached the third round after they beat Broomwood FC 2-1 with goals from Mia Almendros and Savannah Charles, which was a fine bounce back from a 6-0 Hertfordshire League Cup defeat to Stevenage 24 hours earlier.

The U10s’ win over St Albans City Youth was something of a family affair, with both Megan and Kate Attwell getting on the scoresheet, along with Keira Neill, and Scarlett Tucker, who took the player of the match honours, while the U14s battled hard but went down 2-0 at Harpenden Colts.

The senior team bowed out to holders Charlton Athletic in the quarter finals of the Capital Women’s Senior Cup, while the U12s found playing a strong Tottenham side from the year above their level too big a challenge, losing 11-0.
