University features in Usain Bolt movie
Olympian shown training at athletics centre
STAR: HE is the fastest man on the planet and in case you missed it, a prominent west London university features in his new documentary.
‘I Am Bolt’ tracks the Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt’s rise to fame and features Brunel University London.
The multi-Olympic gold medalist, who has previously trained in the facilities on offer at Brunel, is filmed on the ground of the university’s outdoor track with his coach joking about how he needs to get into shape.
Another clip shows him doing a full-length sprint in the indoor athletics centre, finishing with a ‘thank you’ to Brunel in the closing credits.
The much loved Olympic medallist, who came to Brunel University London for filming in 2015, basked in glory on PREMIERE: the Leicester Square red carpet as the premiere of his movie came to London recently.
Assistant director of sport for the Uxbridge based university, James Budkiewicz, said: “Usain and his teammates training here over the years has become a winwin relationship.”
“Our students train alongside a genuine sporting superstar, while Usain gets to use a world class training facility.”
The university expressed delight after tweeting about Bolt at the beginning of December.
The world renowned athlete trained at Brunel’s athletics centre during the London 2012 Olympics.
During his stay, he took a break from his heavy training schedule to spend time with the young athletes on their last day, offering them plenty of tips and advice.
