Santa daSh: Father Christmas race a boost for hospice

-

Wa little ho ho ho, Santa dashers of all ages and abilities took to the streets of Northwood on Saturday December 3, in aid of Michael Sobell Hospice.

The one-mile festive fun run – or stroll – started from the hospice charity shop on Northwood High Street.

Commenting on the day, Michael Sobell Hospice Charityty chief executive, Lindsey Fealey, said: “On behalf of everyone involved with Michael Sobell Hospice, I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who has donned their Santa suit and taken part this morning, or have lent a helping hand, including our volunteer marshals John Wilcox and members of Elthorne and Hillingdon Rotary Club, along with our fantastic volunteer photographer Phil Stone.”

She added: “Please do send in any sponsorship money you have raised to the charity fundraising office based at Mount Vernon Hospital, as this will make a big difference to our overall fundraising target for this event – and in turn, will help to provide specialist care and The Uxbridge Gazette Series support for local people facing life-limiting illness.”

Michael Sobell Hospice will be celebrating its 40th anniversary year from February 14 (Valentine’s Day) 2017, and will host a special art exhibition and auction, in partnership with St Luke’s Hospice, Harrow – which is celebrating 30 years of care – to be held at the prestigious Moor Park Golf Club, The Orangery Rickmansworth, on Friday February 10.

The event will be free to enter and the charities will be calling on local artists to donate a piece of artwork to go on sale at the event, to help raise vital funds for both hospices.
