Shop to open almost two years after plan revealed
TJG1ST PRIMARK is set to open a store in Uxbridge town centre in just two months.
The hugely anticipated opening of the discount retailer in Uxbridge is just around the corner, so the Gazette has put together a list of everything we know.
For readers who have been following this story from the start, it will come as no surprise that it has been rolling on for a number of years.
The plans to open the store were first revealed in a Hillingdon Council document in 2015 after the revamp of the Pavilions shopping centre was giving planning permission 2014.
It was expected to open in time for Christmas 2016, but this was delayed.
Primark revealed on Saturday January 21 that the store will now be open for business on Saturday March 25.
In December 2015, Primark revealed that there would be 155 jobs at the Uxbridge store and that Jobcentre Plus and Uxbridge College would be helping to get unemployed people involved.

Applications opened in October and vacancies were available for supervisors and retail assistants for both parttime and full-time roles.
Around 120 jobs have been created at the new store and interviews were carried out in November.
The Primark store will be spread over two floors and a total of 4,650sq/m, or just over half the size of a football pitch.
There will be entrances from both High Street and Chequers Square at the new shop, located just next to the KFC.
Hillingdon Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Douglas Mills, has previously said: “Primark’s arrival is a great coup for the local economy.
“Uxbridge is going through a complete transformation in the next few years that will further cement its reputation as an attractive and convenient west London shopping destination.
“Such progress shows that Hillingdon is working very well in attracting high quality businesses, bringing more jobs for local people.”
