Resolve to help this New Year
WE would like to urge your readers to make a New Year’s resolution to become part of a team that helps support vulnerable children in London.
As the UK’s leading children’s charity, we’re looking for people to volunteer in our 36 London shops and to help us raise money to support our local projects working with disadvantaged children, young people and their families.
By giving us a little of your spare time, you will gain invaluable experience that could provide a stepping stone to a new career or an opportunity to add to your personal statement for college or university.
We also offer a chance to get out of the house, make new friends and have fun by joining the team at your local Barnardo’s store.
Volunteering is also a great way to build confidence and an opportunity to try new things.
Our volunteers, who are all ages and come from all walks of life, are given full training and on-going support.
To find out more about volunteering with Barnardo’s, please pop into your local Barnardo’s store, visit the website at www.barnardos.org.uk/ volunteering, email London-VolunteeringEnquiries@barnardos.org. uk or call us on 020 8498 7320.
Thank you, we look forward to meeting you in 2018. Marina Paraskevaidi Volunteering adviser,
Barnardo’s, London Paul Johnson, from Uxbridge, took this mistle thrush eating lunch in his Belmont Close garden. The garden gets many visitors including ring-necked parakeets and Paul adds that the birds know crab apples are ripe to eat just now.
