Holly has a ball at United’s big meeting

YOUNGSTER SHARES IDEAS AT FIRST SUPPORTERS COMMITTEE

-

YOUNG Hayes and Yeading United fan Holly Taylor had a ball at the club’s first supporters committee meeting.

The 11-year-old chaired the meeting before the recent home match against Bedford in the boardroom at SKYex Community Stabium.

The decision to set up a supporters committee was made by the club’s board, with a view to engaging current supporters with their ideas on how to improve the club and help it run better on match days.

Committee members said Holly spoke excellently and had many great ideas which the club will be taking on board.

There was an emphasis at the meeting about promoting the club in the local community and attracting more young supporters like Holly and support form all demographics in the local area.

The volunteers from the committee have already hit the ground running with businesses in the Hayes and Uxbridge areas, setting up links, putting up posters and scarves to get the message out there that the club is back in Hayes.

Six years ago the club was the biggest non league team in the area, playing in the Football Conference and now, after years of frustration with the ground being rebuilt, the club has a first-class facility located at Yeading FC’s old ground, in Springfield Road, Hayes.

Along with having ex-Chelsea player Paul Hughes as manager, the mood at the club is positive that the club will start moving back up the football pyramid and everyone is very much behind the slogan #JoinTheJourney.

If you want to go and watch, help volunteer at the club, have any ideas which will help the club (no matter how small), a business that can help or anyone who just wants to know more, contact the club at publicity@hyufc.com.
