Five arrested in drugs and money raids at properties

SEVEN ALSO ARRESTED FROM STOP AND SEARCHES

-

POLICE met in nearly freezing conditions at 6am in Ealing police station to get ready for six raids in three hours in Hounslow, Ruislip and Uxbridge on Thursday December 13.

Five arrests were made and quite a bit of money and drugs were taken away.

Officers wearing helmets and armed with batons raided the homes, while a team equipped with a small battering ram forced their way into some of the properties.

We took videos of the teams quickly going through front doors and running in one after the other, which can be seen on our mylondon website.

There were five arrests in total from the six raids. These arrests were for suspicion of:

■ Possession with intent to supply class A drugs

■ Possession of a class A drug

■ Allowing class A drugs to be used on premises

■ Possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an imitation firearm and money laundering

■ Possession of CS spray and an imitation firearm

Police were not done after the six search warrants were used.

Officers were also out in proactive patrols at knife crime hot-spots, running roadside stopsties and weapons sweeps.

Seven people were arrested from stop and search, bringing the day’s total to 12 arrests.

The seven arrests were made from stop and search on suspicion of: ■ One for possession of an offensive weapon ■ One for possession of cannabis ■ Two for possession with intent to supply class B drugs ■ One for drink-driving and possession of a class A drug

■ Two for possession with intent to supply class B drugs

Over the day as a whole, officers took:

■ Class A and B drugs consistent with supply

■ Two imitation firearms

■ One can of CS spray

■ Large kitchen knife

■ Various quantities of class A and B drugs consistent with personal use

■ Large amount of money

Four of the homes were in Hounslow, one in Ruislip and the other in Uxbridge.

The operation was the result of weeks of planning and an even longer amount of time gathering intelligence.

Sergeant Joe Toohey was the man behind the scenes organising the day and he ran the early morning briefing, which was very detailed and told officers what to expect when they reach each home and who lives there.

The floor plans were revealed and officers were told exactly where they needed to stand to block any possible escape routes.

The homes were picked because police had intelligence around the property.
