Rivals fought topless in park

SIX Brentford Football Club supporters have been sentenced for their part in a pre-arranged fight against Millwall fans near a Hounslow park.

The fighting took place on wasteland between Crane Park in Hounslow and Leitrim Park in Hanworth on August 25, 2018.

Footage later uploaded on to YouTube showed that the opposing groups came at each other exchanging punches, kicks, slaps and pushing each other while shouting verbal abuse. All six men were sentenced for one count of affray at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, November 11. Joel Titus, 28, from Pinner, was sentenced to 12 months imprisonme­nt suspended for two years and 200 hours of unpaid work.

Harry Hackett, 24, from Rayner’s Lane, was sentenced to seven months imprisonme­nt suspended for 18 months with 100 hours of unpaid work.

Guy Claxton, 25, from Whitton, Szymon Kacki, 28, from Ealing, Nathan Mills, 22, from Isleworth, and Harry Farnan, 23, from Staines in Surrey, received one-year community orders with 100 hours of unpaid work each to be completed.

All of the men were ordered to pay costs of £650. They had previously pleaded guilty to the charge.

to ‘reset’ themselves.

Fiona Whillis, from the CPS, said: “This was a pre-planned fight between two rival groups of football supporters who were abiding by some form of combat rules.

“The Millwall group wore clothing on their upper halves and the Brentford group were topless – no doubt to allow participan­ts to easily identify their opponents.

“Organised fighting is illegal without a proper licence and these defendants went against the law by engaging in this behaviour, which could have resulted in serious injuries had the fight escalated.”
