Owners of Love Actually house fed up with selfies

-

YOU’D imagine living in a house from a renowned TV show or film would be an absolute dream come true. The apartment block from Friends, Kevin’s gigantic house from Home Alone, Hugh Grant’s house with its blue front door in Notting Hill - the list goes on.

But when it comes to a famous home from Love Actually, it’s not as glamorous as it seems.

Speaking to the owners of the home where Andrew Lincoln declared his love for Keira Knightley with giant flash cards, it’s fair to say they’ve had enough of the fandemonium.

“This is the most Instagrammed house in Notting Hill,” the homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous said. “Every weekend there’s hundreds of people queuing to take photos. “We’ve had it up to here with it.” Since the home featured in the 2003 cult classic, mostly filmed in London, movie lovers across the globe just can’t get enough. So much so, the owners have had to find a way to make it worthwhile.

They said: “We put a collection box outside the house to raise money for local charities.

“So at least it’s not just taking pictures. We’ve managed to put about three homeless people in shelters with the money raised. “We were also able to restore a public piano that was used by Grenfell residents. S o some charitable good has come out of all this.” The residents have lived at the property on St Lukes Mews in Kensington and Chelsea since the film came out in 2003, so it’s been selfies galore throughout their mainstay. With no sign of eager Instagrammers slowing down anytime soon, residents can expect more fans flocking from far and wide to visit famous street.

But with that, they can also expect more money raised through charitable donations for the homeless.
