Bins ain’t what they used to be

EX-CANDIDATE LORD BUCKETHEAD REGENERATES AS COUNT BINFACE – AND HE’S STANDING IN BORIS’S CONSTITUENCY

-

WHEN Uxbridge and South Ruislip voters go to the polls on December 12 they’ll see candidates from all the usual parties.

They’ll even see current Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s name on the ballot.

But there are also a raft of unusual independent candidates including, Count Binface.

Binface, from Lewisham, was previously known as Lord Buckethead and made headlines when he stood against Theresa May in her Maidenhead constituency in the 2017 general election.

Two years ago, the then Lord gained just 249 votes against the incumbent Prime Minister.

This time he has changed his name and his target, and his campaign slogan is “Bin Boris”.

That isn’t the Count’s only policy. He also wants to restore Ceefax and promises to bring back 20,001 police officers, literally one-upping his chief rival’s campaign promise.

The Count also says he wants to rename Uxbridge’s shopping centre, although he hasn’t specified if he means intu or The Pavilions.

His legal name is Jon Harvey, and despite claiming his age to be 5,965, the comedian and writer is actually 39 years old.

Now, he has released a hilarious parody of Boris Johnson’s video walking through Conservative Party HQ.

Many of the questions Binface answers in his video, including “Marmite, love it or hate it?” and “What bands are you currently listening to?” are straight out of the Conservative press team’s playbook.

But while he makes jokes, the former Lord Buckethead will come .... binface to bucketface with the man who stole his name.

After gaining notoriety and even appearing on John Oliver’s hit US talk show in America, the candidate formerly known as Lord Buckethead ditched the name over a copyright issue.

The name Buckethead was used in 1984 film Hyperspace so after a tussle, Harvey retreated.

But it turns out the Monster Raving Loony Party has put up its own candidate, also named Lord Buckethead.

Other less than typical candidates challenging Boris Johnson include Bobby “Elmo” Smith and Yace “Interplanetary Time Lord” Yogenstein.
