Boris gets some constructive criticism

-

IF you got on the Tube to or from Uxbridge station last Tuesday, you may have see something rather large and out of place in front of it.

A massive bulldozer was parked right outside the station in West London and it was all to do with the environment, Boris Johnson and the general election.

Greenpeace brought a bulldozer to Uxbrige Tube station on the High Street, along with a chaise longue, to give Prime Minister Boris Johnson the chance to make good on his 2015 promise to “lie down in front of those bulldozers and stop the construction of that third runway”.

Rival local candidates have also been invited, as have the LibDem and Labour candidates in the area and agreed to come along and support opposition to the Heathrow third runway plans.

Greenpeace activists have also been delivering leaflets in the constituency and helping Uxbridge locals to register to vote.

People have even been having their own photos lying in front of the bulldozer.

Paul Morozzo, a climate campaigner for Greenpeace UK, said: “We’re here to help people in Uxbridge, and across the UK, to get some clarity on an issue which affects all of us.

“When Heathrow starts to build a new runway, bulldozing through people’s homes and our climate targets, will the Prime Minister be lying in front of the bulldozer, or driving it?

“Since Boris Johnson pledged to lie in front of bulldozers to stop Heathrow’s third runway, a lot has changed.

Campaigners want Boris Johnson to keep to his promise to lie in front of the bulldozers to stop the third runway at Heathrow

“It’s becoming more and more obvious that we are in a climate emergency and the government must cancel Heathrow’s carbon bomb. If the PM doesn’t want to explain his position here, perhaps he can explain on the party leaders’ climate debate?”
