Man jailed after threatening victim with imitation gun

GUNMAN ALSO POINTED THE ‘WEAPON’ AT SECOND PERSON

-

A RECKLESS thug shouted “do you want to die tonight?” in a man’s face as he held a gun against his head in the middle of the street in Southall.

Mohammed Nuur, 27, was convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life at Isleworth London Crown Court on November 20.

Nuur, of Crown Close, in Hayes, was caught by armed police after the terrifying incident.

At 2.15am on Friday September 20, the victim was walking along The Broadway, in Southall, Ealing, when Nuur called out to him.

When the victim approached, Nuur produced a small silver handgun, threatening to shoot him.

He pushed the victim backwards five metres with the gun up against his face and shouted “do you want to die tonight?”

He only stopped when a second man approached, attempting to calm Nuur down.

Nuur’s response though was to threaten the second man before running off.

He was found by officers from the

Metropolitan Police’s Trojan Unit a short time later and arrested.

The gun was recovered and after testing it was established to be an imitation.

Despite overwhelming CCTV evidence, Nuur denied the offence in interview but at court pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment.

Detective Constable Indi Bhamra, the investigating officer, said: “Nuur’s unprovoked actions led to two innocent people being put through a traumatic incident.

“Nuur brandished this weapon in a very public location and not only threatened to shoot the first victim, but also the brave member of the public who attempted to intervene.

“Thanks to the quick response by firearms officers he was detained nearby and the imitation firearm recovered.

“This conviction shows that these intimidating tactics employed by Nuur have no place on our streets.”
