Death of man found under his car treated as ‘unexplained’
MAN FOUND OUTSIDE HIS RESTAURANT IN HOUNSLOW
THE death of a west London businessman, who died following a “dispute” outside his restaurant in Hounslow, is being treated as unexplained.
Manmeet Singh, 44, was found “trapped under his own vehicle” when emergency services were called to Heston Road, outside Passage To India, in Heston, at 9pm on November 23.
The businessman, who lived in Hounslow, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police originally launched a murder investigation and arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
However, it has been revealed the death is now being treated as unexplained and a file will be compiled for the coroner.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers,” a spokesperson for the force added.
“We await the results of a postmortem examination.”
The man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.
Reports on social media at the time suggested two men were “seen fighting” before police arrived, although conflicting reports say the two men were arguing over a parked car.
Images taken by witnesses showed a heavy emergency service response in Heston Road, outside Passage To India.
One witness said a forensic tent was put up near to the Indian restaurant, while the road was closed for a number of hours. Diners at the Passage to India described seeing legs beneath a Mercedes after shouts and screams were heard outside, reported the Evening Standard.
The inquest of Mr Singh was opened at West London Coroners’ Court on January 7.
The inquest will continue on a date yet to be set.
