Witness describes ‘disgusting’ attack on child by teens

GANG SET UPON YOUNGSTER ‘LIKE A PACK OF WOLVES’ ON HIGH STREET

-

A LOCAL resident in Uxbridge has described the harrowing moment he witnessed a group of boys and girls in their early teens attack another child.

The witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, described how the gang were “like a pack of wolves trying to tear apart another young child”.

The resident told MyLondon that he saw the shocking attack while shopping at around 5.45pm on

Tuesday, February 11 outside the Tesco Metro on Uxbridge High Street.

He said: “A large group of kids, there must have been eight or nine, boys and girls, were punching, kicking and basically abusing another child.

“The level of violence was disgusting both from the boys and the girls, in fact the girls appeared worse.

“If this is them at 13 or 14 years old, what will they be like in five years’ time?”

Tesco staff and other shoppers tried to intervene to prevent the attack continuing, but it proved difficult during the mayhem

He continued: “A Tesco member had hold of a girl about 13 or 14 years of age (around the waist) and was trying to stop her jumping on the other child.

“She kept saying let me go, because she wanted to keep punching at the child.

“One disgusting cowardly youth, picked up about three baskets to hit the child with, but a Tesco staff member managed to grab the baskets off him.”

The resident told MyLondon that Tesco staff said that these type of incidents have happened before.

“Its not Tesco’s job to control these horrible, evil kids,” he said. “One on one, I consider a fight. Nine on one, I would consider this is way beyond a fight.

“I wonder what kind of parents bring their kids up to believe this is

Tesco Metro on High Street, Uxbridge, where the incident took place acceptable, and do not teach them this is cowardice, it is not sport, it is not fun, it is not big, it’s disgusting.”

The shocked resident demanded to know what the police were doing about the high level of young people hanging around at night.

MyLondon contacted police about the incident, a spokesperson said: “There was a call to youths fighting at 5.46pm.

“All dispersed on police arrival. No victim apparent.”
