Horrendous impact of Heathrow job cuts

-

JOB losses anywhere are of deep concern. However, some of the worst cuts appear to be those that have been projected at Heathrow. The scale of the cuts (if they are all carried out) would have a horrendous impact on local communities.

It is well known that the airline industry is in trouble. But it must be crystal clear that any job losses are Simply due to the economic downturn and that the lay-offs are being done in as fair a manner as possible.

(In relation to BA Willie Walsh has said the airline is acting ‘lawfully.’ That of course is not quite the same thing.)

More broadly, but still in relation to the post-Covid employment situation, it would be good to see councils arranging ‘Big Conversations’ on the issue .
