THE PLOT When six astronauts intercept a research pod from Mars, they incubate a biological sample that proves life exists on the red planet. But the alien life form is more than a match for the plucky crew. WHAT’S RIGHT/WRONG
WITH IT? Despite a strong cast, Life was unavailable to critics in time for heat to review, so it’s hard to say. The trailer does seem to feature a lot of astronauts explaining the plot to each other, though.
VERDICT “These creatures wiped out Mars,” we are told. “If we let it get to Earth, we risk all human life.” Fair enough, but you might prefer to wait until May, when Ridley Scott returns with muchanticipated Alien: Covenant.
