It’s always tough when you split up with someone – and even worse when they start dating an internationally famous supermodel, who loves to Instagram every second of their heady romance.
So, we’re not surprised that now Perrie Edwards is dating hot football player Alex Oxladechamberlain, she’s caught CCS – that’s Competitive Couple Syndrome – and is posting just as many loved-up pics as exfiancé Zayn Malik and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
In recent weeks, we’ve noticed that the Little Mix star – who was dumped by Zayn in 2015 after four years – is matching her ex post for post when it comes to romantic pics. Last week, she apologised to followers for her “extra cheese on toast post” about Alex, adding, “Shit I miss him” to a snap of them kissing.
“Posting the loved-up pics of herself and Alex is not really Perrie’s style, but after having to put up with Gigi and Zayn for over a year, with their relationship being rubbed in her face, it’s no wonder she’s doing it,” says our insider. “When Zayn and Gigi got together, everyone thought it was really disrespectful how much they put out there. Perrie was like, ‘Give it a rest.’ But as soon as she felt confident with Alex, she started doing the same.”
The friend adds, “Perrie’s getting totally carried away by it all – her friends are asking her if she’s sure about sharing so much of her new relationship on social media. We’re all worried that rather than it showing that she’s happy and moved on, it looks like she’s trying to prove a point.”
