Heat (UK)

‘ Tom Hardy and I text EACH ’ OTHER

Jordan Paramor met the world’s nicest man to talk Blind Date, A-list stars and elephants (obvs)

Paul O’grady greets heat like we’re old mates and is soon talking ten to the dozen about everything from Brexit (he’s not a fan) to good old British boozers (he is). He has zero airs and graces and it’s impossible to feel anything other than completely comfortable in his company. It’s also impossible not to laugh a lot.

The 61-year-old Liverpool native crashed into the world of showbiz in the early ’90s, as his fearless alter ego Lily Savage, and

went on to present everything from The Big Breakfast to the heart-wrenching For The Love Of Dogs (a firm heat favourite).

His upcoming TV show For The Love Of Animals sees him head over to India to try and rescue a series of poorly treated animals, prompting a lot of laughs and plenty of tears. “Oh, I lost it at times,” he reveals. “It was the first time I’ve ever properly cried on camera and the crew didn’t know what to do. It was very emotional.” Grab your tissues everyone, we’re going in…
