ARCHED BROWS

“This classic brow style is having a resurgence, due to the increase in vintage-inspired looks on the red carpet,” says Vanita Parti, founder of Blink Browbar. “For the perfect lifted brow, trace out the shape with a precision product such as a wax pencil. Don’t overdraw your arch, as these can end up looking angry. A brow primer will also help with application and make sure your make-up stays put.”

OMBRE BROWS

“Also known as the Instagram brow, these have been popularised by social media and celebrities like the Kardashians,” says Vanita. “They suit people with a naturally darker brow, as you can really accentuate the fade. To create an ombre brow, build up colour softly starting at the front, gaining intensity as you get to the arch of the brow, and finishing with a really intense tip. A creamy formula is easily buildable and will give a precise finish, or start with a pencil to gain a subtle definition at the beginning of the brow and finish with a cream.”

MESSY BROWS

“This look is the equivalent to the no-make-up make-up trend, where the brow is naturally textured and groomed for definition,” says Vanita. “The key to getting this brow right is to make sure it doesn’t look too ‘done’, so a soft brow product, such as a classic eyebrow pencil, will help fill and define the natural shape. Be sure to layer make-up slowly, so that the brow hairs are still visible, rather than filling completely, as this will give a more natural look. Finish by brushing them with a brow-taming brush, or a clear brow gel to give a ruffled, windswept look.”

STRAIGHT BROWS

“Leading on from the recent androgynous beauty trend, straight brows are lowmaintenance but highimpact,” says Vanita. “They best suit people with naturally thicker brows, and give a really modern look, as well as helping to accentuate cheekbones and draw attention to your eyes. To nail the trend, fill brows with a powder for a soft matte finish. Applying a brow oil nightly will also ensure your brows stay in top condition, and it will help stimulate hair growth, too.”
