Liam’s changing nappies, Chezza’s chillaxing and the relatives are fighting for cuddles
She’s been very quiet since giving birth to her first baby on 22 March, but clearly Cheryl can’t contain just how happy she is with boyfriend Liam Payne – because last week, she updated her Instagram bio to read “living in a love bubble”. Cute, right?
And our insider says that the singer really is that happy – going as far as to tell us, “Emotionally, Cheryl’s the best she’s ever been. She and Liam are head-over-heels in love, both with their baby and each other.” The friend adds, “She’s taken to motherhood so naturally. People around her were telling her about all the hurdles she’d face, but they haven’t happened yet. Obviously, she knows it’s not always going to be easy, but so far it’s a dream.” While Cheryl’s largely stayed off social media since the birth, Liam’s been posting regularly – last week uploading a shot of himself playing basketball at his house. “Liam’s a super-supportive dad, he’s changing nappies and everything. He does his bit,” says our insider. “Of course, his solo music is coming out soon and he’ll have to go away [to LA], but Cheryl doesn’t need him holding her hand. She’s got so much experience with babies and a great support network. It’ll only be for three days at a time or something, and they discussed this ages ago. Cheryl knows how it works, she’s in the industry and they’ll be Facetiming constantly.”
While some reports have claimed that Cheryl’s mum Joan has moved into Liam’s Surrey house, our insider says that’s not the case. “It’s been just them in their ‘love bubble’ – neither of their families live nearby, but everyone came down for Easter and they were all desperate for a cuddle with the baby.”
So, the big question is: what’s he called? As heat went to press, the name hadn’t been announced, and our insider says that Cheryl and Liam wanted to keep their son’s name secret forever. “They don’t want to share it, but everyone around them thinks they’ll have to, as it’ll get out in the papers,” says the source.
We’re still hoping for him to be called Chiam, to be honest.
