Tears On The Dancefloor Steps

It’s been 17 years since Steps released a full album, but oh, how little has changed. It’s all here: infectious techno pop, defiantly camp choruses and stratospheric high notes belted out by Claire Richards. Thank goodness for that. The standout song is single Scared Of The Dark, which hit No1 on itunes shortly after its release. The song transports you straight back to the glory days of unapologetic ’90s pop and synchronised rodeo choreography. And yes, we’re happy to report that it, too, comes with its own set of easy-to-learn dance moves. The rest of the album is an mix of breezy upbeat tracks, with a few soppy ballads thrown in for good measure. It’s cheesier than fondue for four, but why would we possibly want Steps any other way?
