Ange’s new crisis: her nannies can’t take the chaos
She’s having a few, er, recruitment issues
You can’t blame Angelina Jolie for wanting a little extra help around the house. She is, after all, juggling a brood of six kids alongside her day job as a Hollywood superstar and international humanitarian. But insiders say Ange, 41, is struggling to keep her nannies, after several employees quit.
In October, it was revealed that Ange had roped in her brother James – you know, the one she awkwardly snogged at the Oscars in 2000 – as her new “manny” after her split from husband Brad Pitt. He joined a team of at least six other childcare staff who were recruited from around the world to help with Ange’s multicultural family. But James has since stepped down from the post, and three more nannies have followed suit, leaving Angelina majorly short-handed.
“Ange has no trouble hiring qualified nannies, but she can’t seem to get them to stick around,” an insider says. “She’s had several quit on her since she and Brad split. Most of them find the hours too long, and Ange can be quite demanding. James was perfect, as the kids loved him, but he decided he didn’t want to do the job forever. Now he’s moved out, Ange is struggling to replace him.”
Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, are all home schooled and tend to travel with their jet-setting parents, which makes for complicated family life. Before they filed for divorce last September, Brad, 52, described it as hard to handle, saying, “It’s chaos from morning until the lights go out, and sometimes after that.” But our sources say the household has become even more unruly since the actor moved out.
“With Brad not around as much, of course the kids seem to be craving more attention from Ange and the childcarers. It means the living situation can be hard to cope with. Ange is also sometimes strict about the kids’ activities, which means nannies can find it hard. “Ange doesn’t know what to do – it’s incredibly stressful.”
